Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada
Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating
young people about business, economics and free enterprise.
By understanding the fundamentals of these subjects, our youth become responsible adults
and successful employees. Yet these subjects aren't required courses in the Nevada school curriculum.
Through a dedicated volunteer network, JA offers these programs
during and after school for students in grades K-12.
JA provides interactive courses designed to expand young minds and expose
them to basic economic and financial concepts. We do this by focusing on 7 key areas:
- business
- citizenship
- economics
- entrepreneurship
- ethics/character
- financial literacy
- career development
In 1919, we started as a small club of volunteers, which steadily grew to become a respected educational organization with international reach.
In 2006, the Northern Nevada JA office reached nearly 7,000 students in grades K-12 and taught in over 300 classrooms.
